LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT STEAM POWERED GIRAFFE

so basically they are a band, but really they are more of an ALL OUT THEATRICAL PERFORMANCE based around a ROBOT STORYLINE and including awesome stuff like MIME, BODY ART, MUSIC, COMEDY SKETCHES, AND CHARACTER ACTING.

It currently consists of EIGHT people, three ROBOTS, two HUMAN PERFORMERS, two WALTER GIRLS, and one SOUND ENGINEER.

ROBOTS:

So these are your robots. 

The ridiculously tall silver one with the cheekbones is called THE SPINE, and he acts like he’s no fun at all but in reality he is as dorky and hilarious as the others and we all love him. He is about 90% legs and hot hot as a tater tot.

He is played by David Michael Bennett.

The asshole detuning the other robot’s bass is RABBIT, and he is absolutely fantastic. He’s crazy and somewhat obnoxious on stage, which leads to some of the best comedy moments. He’s also adorable and known for changing up the outfit and makeup in such complex ways that cosplayers eat their own metallic paint.

He is played be the brilliant Bunny Bennett, who is an incredible artist and sort of shy and cute out of character. You can check out her art through that link.

HATCHWORTH is the final robot. He is the newest to take up the mime aspect in the group, and has formed an adorable friendship with The Spine. He’s really sassy and has a fabulous moustache.

look at this face isn’t he adorable and absolute hell to draw :)

Hatchworth is played by Sam Luke, also a fantastic artist and part of his own band separate from this one, which is also gr9.

HUMANS:

So in the human musician sector you have MICHAEL REED (talented little shit) and MATT SMITH (NOT THE DOCTOR YOU EGG)

THIS IS MICHAEL:

and these are the walter girls, although we’re not really sure if they’re human at the moment

They are played by Brianna Clawson and Paige Law, who happen to be the girlfriends of David and Bunny and cute as all heck do you not want to smooch them

THIS IS STEVE NEGRETE 

Aside from being the most badass bandanna wearing superhero to ever walk the earth, he is the SOUND ENGINEER for SPG. Basically there would be no band without him, just a bunch of people trying to work the sound desk and perform at the same time. He makes all of the awesome effects and does the tech stuff to keep everything running during the shows, and makes a youtube webshow using a crocheted doll of himself give to him by a fan.

Everybody loves Steve.

SIDENOTE ON PAST MEMBERS: 

This cutie is THE JON, played by JON SPRAGUE, and you will be seeing him in a lot of their older videos. He was known for his fantastic harmonizing, but left the band last year. We all miss him very much.

This fabulous lady is UPGRADE, played by ERIN BURKE, and performed with SPG mostly during their busking days a few years ago. She left in 2011.

The guy signing stuff in this photo is MIKE BUXBAUM. He was a stand in drummer during the transitional point when Jon had left the band, Sam had stopped drumming and became a robot, and they had nobody to keep the beatz, before Matt Smith(not a timelord) showed up. He was cool.
